My husband and I have been married for just under two years now and are (finally) planning our honeymoon. We were wondering if we can still claim honeymoon rates at hotels and such while we are travelling. Anyone have any idea?

just tell them you just got married i don’t think they are going to ask to see proof of when you got married.
Just tell them it’s your honeymoon. I doubt they will ask when you got married or are getting married. If they do ask just give them a recent date, I never heard of a hotel ask for a marriage certificate. If you don’t feel right telling a little white lie then tell them the truth and that you haven’t had time for a honeymoon until presently. I’m sure they will understand and make an exception. Good luck and enjoy your honeymoon!!
What you want to call your trip is your business. If you feel it is the honeymoon you missed, act like it. Getting a better rate should not be big on your list. If the rate is that important to you, it is Your Honeymoon!
there is no clear time limit for honey moon as far as i know …. and i am sure no hotel would would for your marriage certificate for a honey moon reservation … it would be better if you call up some hotels and speak to them about their problem … i am sure they shall find a way out for you
As far as I know, there are no “honeymoon rates.” But if you mean honeymoon packages, which may include complimentary champagne, flowers and candy, all you have to do is say you are on your honeymoon, which is absolutely true! The fact that you’re making this a priority says a lot about your relationship. Have fun!
